Set of 2 nested Purple and Black wheel thrown ceramic stoneware pottery bowls by GemFOX From the "Iron Purple" collection, my most requested color scheme and personal fav ;) Smaller bowl is approx 5 3/4" in diameter, 2 1/8" high. Larger bowl is approx 6 1/4" in diameter, 2 1/8" high. Food safe, microwave and dishwasher safe. Treat carefully as you would other china. Matte black with green speckles glaze outside. Inside glossy variegated berry purple. gemFOX 2012 inscription barely visible beneath glaze on underside. Relatively lightweight, thin walled. Made from a North Carolina clay that is between stoneware and porcelain, so texture is smooth and fine yet earthy and strong. Painted with non-commercial glazes formulated at my school and fired to ~2200 degrees Fahrenheit for a vitrified watertight finish. Humbly handmade by me in Tampa Bay, FL USA. Imperfections are part of the nature and charm of handmade work.
