Pair of matryoshka shaped microwave oven mitts or pot holders. Lightly batted, not too bulky. Made with cotton vintage fabrics and cotton batting salvaged from an estate (unused fabric, not recycled). Approximately 7" long, 4 1/2" wide. *It is padded with layers of batting, but not with thermal metallic lining, so please don't use them to hold onto anything too hot for too long or you will feel it. They are great for taking out steaming hot plates and bowls from the microwave, lifting off a hot lid from a pot on the stovetop, or grabbing a cookie sheet from the oven. I love having these around, easy to grab, easy to use. Great for kids that like to cook too. Designed and constructed by me, Gem, using humble tools and my human hands. Imperfections are part of the nature and charm of handmade work.

Self Representing Artisan SRA #F71 in the U.S. specializing in, but not limited to, lampwork glass beads and jewelry, ceramics and pottery, knit and crochet, home-sewn fashion and other handcrafted items.
I work in a wide range of media and styles to fit many needs. I love working closely with clients to achieve something really unique and special whether it's for a gift, business, or personal enjoyment.
I work glass in the torch flame to create ornate beads, wearable art, tiny sculptures, and vessels. I'm known for intricate scrolls and florals on dainty elegant beads. From classic, to formal, to whimsical. I love to explore it all.
I also throw pottery on the wheel and especially love to create practical items with a timeless artful touch. From refined to rustic, form and function. Everyday items for home, kitchen, decor, dining, bar, restaurant, and winery. From long stem wine glasses to a favorite coffeemug. Let's create something special in ceramic that will outlast just about any other material through time.
If you love to cozy up with unique hand knitted and crocheted accessories, blankets, and garments, great because I always keep my hands busy and have yarn and a sticks close by. From baby hats, booties, and toys, to folkwear slippers, elegant scarves, hoods and shrugs. Knit and crochet is an essential part of many fashionistas' wardrobes, and almost all of us grew up with a special handmade afghan or blankie. Let's make it unique, make it personal.
I cannot wait to hear the project you have in mind so I can help bring your idea into reality!
