Federal Demilune Table

$3,500

Federal-style demilune card table, made of solid mahogany and crotch-mahogany and figured maple veneer. This 18th century reproduction table features extensive handmade holly inlay decorations of bellflowers, cross-banding, and figured maple patterae that provide an amazing color contrast to the beautiful mahogany background. While the table is designed to be placed against a wall, the top does flip over and is supported by the rear-left leg, which swings out on a gate. The table measures 18"x36" (closed). The table is constructed in a true period manner. The apron is "bricklaid", then cut to a curve. The legs are solid mahogany, attached to swinging rails by mortise and tenon joints at the rear of the table, and with bridle joints to the curved apron. The upper and lower tops are cut from choice solid mahogany; and the edges are carefully highlighted by contrasting stringing.

About Me
With a 30-year career in the media industry, I understand the importance of client service, meeting (and exceeding) expectations, and superior craftsmanship. I use hand-selected American hardwoods sourced from local mills, and for some projects, reclaimed materials from century-old barns, to create unique heirloom pieces that you'll be proud to showcase in your home or office.

About My Work
Whether it's custom cabinetry or a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture, I treat every commission like it's for a friend. I use traditional joinery techniques and the finest materials and finishes to ensure that your piece not only looks beautiful, but will also last for generations.

I'm a member of the Society of American Period Furniture Makers, and the Cabinet Makers Association.
