Hope Chest

$3,400

This is a pair of heirloom hope chests commissioned by a husband/father for his wife and daughter. My client wanted to commemorate the birth of his daughter with something special that she will keep for her lifetime, and also to make a matching smaller version for his wife. He wanted these chests to be visually stunning and also to last a lifetime. To personalize the chests, he wanted to feature plaques carved with his wife and daughters' initials and the date he presented these special gifts. The chests are made with premium curly cherry and figured maple. All the wood came from the same trees and feature wraparound grain, ogee bracket feet, aromatic cedar floors, and sand-shaded fan inlays on the lids. One chest includes a removable jewelry box. The larger chest is 40 inches wide x 20 inches deep x 22 inches tall; the smaller chest is 36 inches wide by 18.5 inches deep x 20 inches tall. These chests can be made to order and customized to meet your specific requirements. From my client: "I just wanted to thank you for making these beautiful heirloom chests for my daughter and I. They're works of art!"

About Me
With a 30-year career in the media industry, I understand the importance of client service, meeting (and exceeding) expectations, and superior craftsmanship. I use hand-selected American hardwoods sourced from local mills, and for some projects, reclaimed materials from century-old barns, to create unique heirloom pieces that you'll be proud to showcase in your home or office.

About My Work
Whether it's custom cabinetry or a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture, I treat every commission like it's for a friend. I use traditional joinery techniques and the finest materials and finishes to ensure that your piece not only looks beautiful, but will also last for generations.

I'm a member of the Society of American Period Furniture Makers, and the Cabinet Makers Association.
