Expanding Dining Table
This table was custom made for a client in New York City. He wanted an expandable table that would fit a particular space in his apartment. The table is made of solid cherry and is designed to expand from 52 inches to 88 inches by simply pulling out each 18-inch leaf. The table is engineered to allow the extensions to be stored under the top. The extensions can be easily pulled out on solid oak rails and the main top drops into place. No need to store the extensions in a closet! This table measures 52 inches long (when closed) x 28 inches wide x 30 inches tall but I can customize to fit your home. The client wanted to add some subtle flair to the table, so I created a gentle curve on the aprons, a subtle taper on two sides of the legs; and the legs are canted outward at a slight angle. I used a combination of boiled linseed oil and beeswax to bring out the natural coloring and character of the beautiful cherry wood. I can also make the table in walnut, maple or virtually any other species you'd like. I will deliver for free in the NY tri-state area. I can also ship with white glove service -- rates will vary depending on your location and size of your table.

Mar 31, 2019Kerry's work is top notch and he's extremely professional & easy to communicate with. He worked with me to design exactly what we wanted (a wood live-edge bench of specific dimensions-- we're going to use it as a coffee table). He kept us updated along the way, sending photos of the slab he'd chosen based on our requirements (with a bit of it oiled so we'd get a sense of how the final product would look) and sending a drawing of the placement of the flat steel legs, so we were all on the same page when he began the work. He responded quickly to messages, and the time frame was as described. Most important, the final product is GORGEOUS. Very solid and well-made, quite beautiful. BTW, I marked 5 stars for shipping b/c I had to complete that part to submit the review, but actually we decided to go pick it up ourselves since Kerry's shop is fairly close to us (though delivery was included in the price he quoted us).

Jul 5, 2017Kerry was a dream to work with. We had a house fire and lost everything. We had a particular dinning room table that we looked for two months to replace and could not find. Then I found CustomMade and Kerry. Kerry listened to our description and knew exactly what we had. We wanted to tweek the design a little and he was more than up to the task, even offering other suggestions that made our great table even better. Kerry returned every text, email, and call on a timely manner and provided pictures along the way. When he got to the finishing stage, he sent us four small pieces of discarded wood that had variations of the finish we wanted. This one part of the experience makes for a finished product that you cannot be unhappy with.

It was very easy working with Kerry and he responded promptly to any requests. He did a great job piecing together all of my requests to make a beautiful cutting board!
