Bird Painting: Blue Hummingbird Flying Near Pink Hibiscus

This 11" by 14", acrylic painting, is of a hummingbird. His colors are blues with touches of purple and green and a ruby throat. He is hovering near an enticing, fully opened pink Hibiscus flower with a few leaves to the right of it. Tall grass frames the painting to the left of the hummingbird. This particular painting has already been sold. But you can have another like him. Would you like another hummingbird just like him or in different colors? Would you like a different colored hibiscus, or a different flower altogether? These items can be customized. To paint this hummingbird, I used a choppy brush stroke to simulate the tiny tufted layers of the hummingbird's feathers. I blended together the edges of the different colors so that the small feathers would look seamlessly part of the whole bird. I painted the pink as the warm compliment to the cool blues of the bird. The canvas was sprayed with clear acrylic matte varnish to keep the colors bright, and signed by the artist. This and other paintings ship flat in a no-bend cardboard box with edge protectors, wrapped in bubblewrap, and sandwiched between two sheets of luan. Shipping and Handling costs for this item are $25.
