Amazing Cape/Shawl in wonderful Crochet Lace. I crocheted this shawl in a fantastic hand dyed yarn with variations on antique lace patterns. The result is a thick, warm, chunky lace cape with fantastic drape, swing and twirl. I chose a gorgeous dark rainbow yarn from Quo Vadis Handspun (link to their shop below!) that is an acrylic and nylon blend. It's incredibly soft, washable, vegan and non-allergic. The colors are like the muted light of walking deep in the forest. I trimmed the shawl in a coordinating dark gray that visually ties the whole piece together. The finishing touch is an openwork dragonfly clasp in sterling silver for an extra touch of whimsy. There are more than 20 hours of my loving attention in this gorgeous shawl. This is a truly amazing handmade piece in a stunning yarn that will be a joy for you to wear and an heirloom to pass down to generations. 26" (66 cm) from the back of the neck down the center to the bottom 20.5" (52 cm) around the neck from one side of the clasp to the other. 170" (432 cm) around the entire bottom 53" (135 cm) from "wingtip to wingtip" (unclasped, bottom front corner around the neck to the other bottom front corner) Machine wash cold delicate/gentle; tumble dry low/gentle or lay flat to dry.

I’m a composer working in silk, gemstones, pearls, crystals, precious metals, glass, and yarn. Handmade lampworked glass beads, silk cord, silver charms, bamboo fiber and baby alpaca yarn are the notes in my music. Colors and textures are the melody and harmony. The music I compose is fine jewelry and crochet accessories created with a sense of joy.
Necklaces are often hand knotted silk cord with Swarovski Crystals, Gemstones, Lampwork Glass or Pearls floating in place. Earrings are wire-wrapped, often clusters, that coordinate with necklaces or take the stage solo. Bracelets and anklets are petite versions of necklaces for delicate and delightful descants to the music. The metals making the framework of my jewelry compositions are carefully chosen; Argentium Silver, Sterling Silver or Niobium for what may touch your skin. Accents of silver plated fine-pewter make a few fun appearances.
Crochet accessories are all about color and texture. For it to be close to your skin, on your shoulders or around your neck, it must be soft. But it must also be lovely. The yarns I create with range from baby alpaca, merino, and lambswool to silk, cotton and bamboo, to acrylic, nylon and polyfiber. You must touch the yarns, and you must see them, they are all so beautiful and wonderful.
