Custom 10 x 10 inch Pet Portrait in Oil - Deposit - 10% Benefits Animal Charities This listing is a 50% deposit for a custom (unframed) 10 x 10 inch head/shoulders oil painting of your pet with a simple background, on 3/4 inch canvas. Other sizes and options are also available. The images attached show a recently completed portrait and the photo I was working from. My style is realistic as I try to capture the real feeling of your pet, while the backgrounds are one color, or a pattern (costs $40 extra for 10 x 10). The Process: I work from photographs and will review your photos, suggest one or more compositions, and you will select the pose you like best before painting begins. Great photos result in better paintings, so the photos need to be clear. Paintings take 1-2 months to complete depending on my current workload. Once I complete the painting, you will approve it via an emailed photo before you pay the remaining 50%. Should you require any changes to the painting, I am happy to make them, and I guarantee my work. Should you not be completely pleased with the painting, I will refund your deposit, however, I reserve the right to sell your portrait to someone else, use it on my website, etc. The total completed painting price is $600 plus shipping via Federal Express and insurance (less than $25 in US); the remaining 50% payment with shipping/insurance is due before I ship the painting to you. As with all of my work, 10% of the price of the custom portrait is donated to local animal charities and rescue groups. Gift certificates if you want to surprise someone with a pet portrait of their own. Please note that the image of my painting above is protected by copyright law. Any reproduction or copying of the image is illegal. This copyright will not transfer with the sale of this work.

I am an oil painter, focused completely on animal paintings - pets and other animals. I paint from photographs (they must be yours/mine/or others without copyright issues) in a realistic style on bold backgrounds, and enjoy capturing the amusing and endearing expressions of the animal. I departed a 20-year corporate career in 2006 to spend time on volunteer activities and art. I am now the proud mom to four former shelter dogs (a side benefit to volunteering at the shelter) and paint from my home studio (a remodeled carriage house in my backyard) and at the Ashland Art Center on Main Street.
Ten percent of my sales are donated to local animal rescue groups and charities where I am a volunteer - Jackson County Animal Shelter, Sanctuary One, and Equamore Horse Sanctuary. I am also a member of HeARTs Speak, the Ashland Gallery Association and The Canine Art Guild.
