Regal golds, maroons, and purples in Moraine Park (Rocky Mountain National Park) rally before the impending snow of an early winter. This area is a popular elk viewing spot during the fall rut. Limited edition museum quality reproduction of my original mixed media painting (watercolor and colored pencil). These prints are carefully produced using archival inks on lumira paper. Each print is signed and numbered. A Certificate of Authenticity and care instructionsare provided. Image is 11 7/8" x 10". Finished matted size is 20" x 18". The conservation quality mat is "Eraser" (Crescent Select 9609), which is the exact color of a pencil's eraser! (Much like a soft orange-red adobe clay -- and like the color of the mountains in the middle ground of the image). The mat window is cut to reveal the narrow white border around the print beneath. This work is secured to the mat board using conservation methods & materials. It is backed with an acid free foam core mount and slipped into a self-sealing crystal clear bag/sleeve. The "Moraine Park -- Fall Colors" print is available in this image size (unmatted) and in a larger size within this limited edition, and as note cards. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME. Ever since I watched my 5 year old brother captivate others with his whimsical, engaging clown drawings, I have been intrigued by the power of image making. It was fascinating to me (a year older) to witness his innate confidence and the sheer delight he experienced when he was creating, -- as well as seeing what he would come up with!
When I picked up my own crayons, I soon discovered an alternate world that one can disappear into when one is putting pencil, crayon, or paint to a blank support with the purpose of creating. This activity, for me, in combination with many road trips traveling and moving as a youngster became not only a ticket into an exploration of creative possibilities but it also provided a means for me to detach so that I could observe and sort out my small life's events while also taking note of and soaking up the world's wonder with my sponge mind.
As an admirer and painter of the landscape and figures, I often say that I am in the business of extending one's memories and special experiences. I render the sites of one's vacations and favorite locations as well as portraits of loved ones, human and animal.
WHAT I OFFER. I am a studio and plein air painter, proficient in oils, acrylic, my own style of mixed media (watercolor and colored pencil), and drawing media. I create originals and sell professionally created museum quality reproductions of my work on paper and canvas. I also create custom, oversize prints of my works on canvas for customers that I embellish personally (in effect, creating a new original that can be quite affordable for the size).
HOW I SERVE. I have worked with the public for many years and am particularly happy when I can listen, hear beyond the words, and deliver exactly, -- or above and beyond, what a customer is looking for. Finding ways to best deliver and please those with whom I collaborate is a huge pleasure for me.
The personal touch is integral to my offerings. Whether my art is created specifically for a customer or not, I interview the client about the space/environment of the new work's prospective home to pick up on the client's preferences and style (and especially if I am involved in the framing process). I often personally hang my completed works of art in my clients' homes.
