The wood body is hand turned, hand finished with hundreds of layers of friction shellac, and buffed to a silky, satin finish using Carnauba wax. This proprietary process produces a deep, shimmering look and feel that is more than a match for the jewelry quality 22k Gold and Rhodium metal finishes. Special care is taken in the assembly of this pen, so that the upper and lower wood body grain figuring is aligned when the pen is closed, enhancing its overall artistry and beauty. The top quality Schmidt medium point fountain nib sports an engraved Gold design on Iridium.
