Rocking Chair: Dreamtime
This is a rocking chair in a style inspired by Sam Maloof. The wood is Lacewood and Curly Maple. This rocking chair is available for purchase. I would also be very happy to make a rocker for you that fits you perfectly: maybe a different size (I carve the seats to fit you and can make the arms higher, lower … I can also make the chair bigger or smaller to your preference) I am also happy to use woods of your choice. Meet the Maker
Tim Carney
Timothy's Fine Woodworking
I have been working professionally with wood for over 30 years. A native of Montana, I have always had an interest in art and wood working. I majored in philosophy and fine art at university, started a family, worked for the railroad as a carpenter for many years then opened my shop, Timothy's Fine Woodworking in 1982.
I am especially interested in expressing movement in my furniture, as well as exploring the natural elements of the wood. Early on I was influenced by the work of Tage Frid, George Nakashima and Sam Maloof. I often incorporate the live edge of the boards into my tables, and use the natural grain and color of different woods in my designs.
In addition to studio furniture, I also make custom cabinets and other custom furniture. I enjoy working with my customers, listening to what they want, and giving my attention to every detail, from the selection of the wood to the finished design. I try to honor the spirit of the material I use, in the finished pieces.
