Gate-Leg Table

Gate-Leg Table

$2,000

This table is the perfect piece for small spaces, whether you use it as a kitchen table, dining table or desk. The gate leg table of cherry folds down to 1 ft. by 3 ft. and expands to 5 feet long to seat 6 comfortably. You can also use it with just one side folded up to seat 3 people. The gate legs make a beautiful play on their curves, open or closed. The unique design of the legs leaves plenty of knee clearance. The table can be customized by shape (I have made it in a rectangle or oval shape for customers) by size, and by woods. I would be very happy to talk with you about how I can make a table like this to fit your home perfectly.

I have been working professionally with wood for over 30 years. A native of Montana, I have always had an interest in art and wood working. I majored in philosophy and fine art at university, started a family, worked for the railroad as a carpenter for many years then opened my shop, Timothy's Fine Woodworking in 1982.

I am especially interested in expressing movement in my furniture, as well as exploring the natural elements of the wood. Early on I was influenced by the work of Tage Frid, George Nakashima and Sam Maloof. I often incorporate the live edge of the boards into my tables, and use the natural grain and color of different woods in my designs.

In addition to studio furniture, I also make custom cabinets and other custom furniture. I enjoy working with my customers, listening to what they want, and giving my attention to every detail, from the selection of the wood to the finished design. I try to honor the spirit of the material I use, in the finished pieces.

"I hope my art that people use everyday helps them reconnect to the spirit of the natural world."
