Bench Painted With Trompe L'Oeil Stones And Feathers

$275

This charcoal-black single-seater bench is painted in Trompe L'oeil style with a collection of stones, slate, mica and natural crystal scattered on top. The bowl and the turtle are carved from stone as well. For a little something organic I painted two feathers and an autumn leaf. Of course there is a little lady bug, can you find it? The bench is 24" long, 10 ¼ " https://www.etsy.com/your/shops/me/dashboard?ref=mcpadeep and 18" tall. If you are interested in having me paint something similar to this piece please send me an email or leave a comment. Price will start around $275 but will be contingent on the source, and condition, of the piece of furniture to be painted. Shipping costs will be determined by location of delivery. Please contact me to discuss shipping and handling. If you are local to central Connecticut other shipping arrangements can be made.

I am Sue Banks, a self-taught artist who works in craft acrylics, usually on surfaces that do not require framing, such as furniture, household objects, and stones. I work on anything from vintage pieces to unfinished new items. Many of the projects shown here are examples of past work. Each project is always unique, and most are custom ordered. I work on items supplied by the client or on items procured in conjunction with a client’s request. I specialize in re-purposing items by decorating them with acrylic paint in hyper-realism and Trompe L'oeil style. I paint a very wide range of subject matter from flowers to stones to animals and insects to sneakers to teacups. My work is intensely colored, detail oriented and joyful. I work from actual objects and photos which are often supplied by the client, to create works to a client’s specifications. Working from reality is most effective for trompe l’oeil designs.
