Walnut's own leather care product has been formulated for the unique requirements of Walnut Studiolo's products, for vegetable-tanned leather and outdoor use. The product we've made is composed of time-tested natural ingredients that have been used since the days of New England fishermen waxing their leather boots, and are recommended by the Library of Congress for leather care. Designed for Walnut Studiolo's leather products, the Leather Care Dressing is weather-proofing, conditioning but not softening, and has antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-mildew properties. It can be used on the wood sides of the pocket pannier and seat barrel bag as well as the leather. Formulated and created by Valerie and tested by Geoff in the shop, we think the new leather care products are awesome. We use them now on all the products we sell. A coat of Walnut Studiolo Leather Dressing goes on all of our products as a final step before sending them to you. This listing is for (1) 1-ounce tin, which should be enough to cover several medium-sized products 2-3 times (about a year's supply). We specifically chose ingredients and suppliers based on their responsibility, sustainability, and natural content. No Petroleum ~ No Chemicals ~ No Paraffin ~ All-Natural ~Time-Tested Ingredients ~ Small Batch ABOUT LEATHER CARE: Walnut recommends you apply a light coat of dressing whenever your leather product begins to look dry, or about once or twice a year or so. Apply less frequently if your gear is used occasionally, like on the weekends, and stored indoors, or apply more often if it's used daily or left out in the elements for long periods of time. No matter what product you use, make it a light coat, and buff it with a clean dry rag. MATERIALS: Neatsfoot oil, local beeswax, lanolin, pine resin, organic essential oils DIMENSIONS: 1 oz tin approximately 3/4" deep by 2 1/4" diameter. INTERNATIONAL orders, please note: our shipping and handling does not include your country's import taxes or VATs.

Hi, I'm Geoffrey Franklin. I'm an 8th generation Oregonian, born and raised in Beaverton and Weston, Oregon. I graduated from the University of Oregon Architecture School. I run Walnut Studiolo with my wife, Valerie. I design and craft all the products in my workshop, and Valerie runs the business side.

Bicycle accessories are my core focus but I love good design, as an architecture student, and I loved learning how to work leather as a medium. Eventually I also started enjoying the juxtaposition of leather and wood. In these products, I'm expressing my love for good design, architectural concepts, and natural materials in products that I would want to use myself…and I do use myself. I field-test all my products until I'm comfortable with them before listing them on our shop.

My goal is to make high-quality, beautiful, durable, and most of all functional solutions to everyday problems. Thank you for buying small and handmade. I put my heart in everything I make.
