This is a custom box made for a client who wanted to store ceremonial feathers. It is a traditional Native American design utilizing the natural aromatic qualities of the cedar to protect the feathers.It is made from western red cedar with black walnut dowels, red velvet flocking interior and antique brass hardware. There are no screws used to put this together, the dowels serve in this capacity. Box dimensions are 20" H x 6.5" W x 5" H

John Myszko is a woodworker and carpenter with over 25 years experience.
Starting out as a set builder on Broadway in New York he began his career in a non-conventional, free thinking sort of way.
Moving into the study of Japanese woodworking, his career primarily focused on bringing the feeling of the natural world indoors which led to many larger projects - mostly the design and fabrication of destination spas throughout the United States.
Enjoying a much quieter lifestyle in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado he has built a workshop and creates within it the things he is most passionate about.
From custom furniture, to musical instruments, to just about anything a client dreams up- each day is something new.
He does still go out on the road for custom projects when there is a good alignment creatively.
Woodworking sculpture is his latest passion….

The cedar box is fantastic. Very beautiful, well built but, even more sturdy than I imagined. The protective aspect of the box was extremely important to me. Like, I said this box more than exceeded my expectations. John kept me well informed as to the progress of the project and delivered the box on time. John was very easy to work with. The personal note from John that came with the box was very thoughtful and touching. Thank you, John.
