Rustic Wood Trash Can

Great working with these guys!

This was my first time ever having anything done on Custom Made before. I found the process a bit confusing, since I was trying to make a true custom made order where you submitted the custom order to the Maker instead of picking from one of the pre-selected trash cans in the drop down menu. I had no clue what to put down for dimensions or materials, just knew I wanted 50 gallons. I had left these items blank and even emailed with the Custom Made representatives who assured me that the Designer would be asking me many questions to guarantee my custom order was made to my specifications and enjoyment.

However, I only heard from this Maker for the proposal. She did give me pictures and names of the different colors of wood for me to select from, but she never went over size and dimension. It was made and shipped and I never heard from Maker again, I just received notification from her that my item had shipped. As soon as I received it by UPS the next day, I knew it was wrong, but it was a gift for my husband and had to leave it in the box for him to open first, so I just threw some wrapping paper around the box. He opened it that evening and he too knew after opening it, that it was not what we had envisioned. It was way taller than our cabinets, and our youngest daughter wasn't able to open the lid up to throw trash in because the can was as tall as her. We had envisioned the 50 gallon to be the same height of the standard, but be more rectangular, has we had one like this in the past that was given to us and lasted 10 years.

I noticed on the packing slip that if you were completely satisfied then to notify the maker, so I did message Heather and let her know. She was great in working with us to replace the 50 gallon for a 30 gallon since it is shorter and won't tower over my cabinets and my youngest daughter can actually open the lid. We don't live far from Heather and do business in her area. We hand delivered the trash can back to her and are awaiting our new one to be completed. Even though we would have liked to have had a trash can shaped like the one we envisioned, we are thankful Heather worked with us and is making us a new one. I just think there should be a little more communication with people who select "contact maker for custom product" because people like me think they are submitting a true custom product down to length x width x height in addition to what's put on it and type of wood, especially when the custom order form has the blanks for you to input your own dimensions and your own materials.

If I could have had better communication and more of actually custom designing my trash can, my review would have been much higher.

THH Creations was very easy to work with and very responsive during the design phase of the project. Once the project started, though, I received less interim updates than I expected, their responsiveness slowed, and the item ultimately shipped 9 days late. The item also arrived with one of the many custom dimensions not correct, although thankfully it wasn't a critical dimension. So overall I am very happy with the item. It is well made and after a few minutes of confusion, it wasn't that hard to put together (it shipped in 3 pieces, which was expected). Thank you!

Heather did a great job communicating throughout the project. Delivery was timely and everything turned out just how we wanted it.
