Rags Black Chiffon Pageant/Prom Dress
I designed this dress years ago when my daughter was competing in pageants. She not only looked gorgeous, but captured the attention of all, especially the judges. She looked like she had just stepped off a New York runway. SHE WON! ….The bodice is full sequin beading, enforced with boning and fully lined. ….From the shoulder, I layered tear drop designed strips of organza and encircled each with a narrow strip of black sequins to match the bodice. ….The skirt is fully lined, but the overlay of organza is done the same as the sleeves. These teardrop shaped strips of organza gave a flattening at the hips and shoulders where I attached them, but quickly flourished with the wider part of the sections at the bottom. All the strips are encircled with the single sequin trim. ….This design with the organza allowed for a thin area where multiple layers were attached to the dress, but the slight stiffness of the fabric made each strip stand out against the rest, causing a full effect without having to have standout slips beneath. This dress no longer exists, but wanted to show the design and can reproduce it or make one with slight differences according to your personal preferences.

of Pontotoc County, Mississippi, in the good ole
USA on imaginary quests or riding
our bike down gravel roads pretending to be in the circus,
life was always full of adventure.
Life has brought many hardships my way
but with each I have learned that only I limit myself.
Life is a challenge, of which I am a survivor
& a conqueror.
I love to be creative no matter what I'm doing.
God has blessed me with joy through sewing, writing,
sculpting, drawing, & also thru the simple things of
life.
My husband & I enjoy spending time
alone or with the house full of family.
I want to be the best that I can be
in whatever I am doing.
