Reclaimed Yellow Ceiling Fan Housing Hanging Lamp This re-purposed pendant lamp will be perfect to place above your kitchen, table, home office, or wherever you'd like to place it. This hanging lamp will be assembled from scratch using a reclaimed ceiling fan motor housing and hardware to make a beautiful piece of minimalist decor. The lamp includes over 8 feet of cloth covered cable with a feed through switch and a strain relief for a swag light installation. It will measure about 8.5" in diameter by 6.5" tall. The lamp will be painted and hand distressed entirely by me using a technique employed in the automotive industry in a color of your choosing when possible. All the sanding and polishing is made by hand to give it that unique look. Any imperfections present on the lamp are inherent to the handmade nature of this re-purposed pendant light. Custom orders for this or other lamps are always welcome, if you are looking for something special, I will work with you to find your perfect light. *Pictures included in the listing have been enhanced for illustrative purposes, for untouched pictures of the light, please visit my FB page. *Due to variations on computer monitor settings, the color of the lamp may vary from one computer to another. Retro Steam Works
I have been creating unique lighting for several years now, I specialize in custom finishes and hard to find sizes and designs; if you need a specific design I will be happy to work with you to achieve the desired piece.
My finishes are done by hand on solid materials, I don't fake brass or copper finishes on steel; whenever I do custom finishes I do them on real metals, ie; copper, brass.
My work can be found around the globe and throughout the US and Canada, besides individual clients I also have worked with commercial clients such as: Bose - Remodel Moore - Kindred Interiors - C3 Group - We Came in Peace - Consort Homes - NYC Best Bars group - Orchard Lane Studio - KP Designs & Associates - Freiheit Arquitecture - Zio and Sons - Workshop Denver, Fearins | Welch Interior Design to name a few.
Artist Statement (my sculptural luminaries):
Jay Lana is a Florida based, self-taught artist who works with reclaimed materials to create award-winning, functional art.
Mainly guided by intuition, each unique piece he creates tells a story of time and place, the materials used in each piece provides it with qualities such as strength, grace, balance, and endurance.
He has worked from his own studio since late 2013, since then his pieces have been featured in art galleries, juried art festivals; as well as international and national publications.
His art is also sought after by private collectors nationwide as well as internationally.
He firmly believes that the collector's satisfaction is entirely in his hands, thus he strives for a high level of integrity in his work.
Retro Steam Works was very easy to work with and did a great job preparing CADS and communicating spec with me. The quality of the lamp I received was great as well. I highly recommend them and would work with them again.
We LOVE our new custom sconces. Jay was sensitive to the fact that we had a timeline and he made exactly what I had envisioned. Thanks so much!
Jay made a beautiful custom light for our walk-in closet. He took requirements & specifications from our designer and provided the perfect solution for the oddly positioned electrical box. Light was well constructed, expertly shipped, and reasonably priced.
Second piece I have commissioned from Retro Steamworks and very cool. Functional and as promised. Delivered on time for a birthday which was a little rushed. Thanks Jay!
Jay was super helpful and comunicative up front. By the time we finalized the project I knew exactly what to expect and that’s what he delivered. The piece is beautiful and exactly what we needed for our space. Thanks Jay!
