Any imperfections present on the lamp are inherent to the handmade nature of this re-purposed light. Due to being hand-spun Shade tones may vary for the one pictured and might show manufacture marks ie, smudges, tiny scratches. Most of my pieces are made with unfinished metals, therefore they will tarnish over time. Patina only adds character to the piece, but if tarnish is not desired wax or mineral oils can be applied regularly.
Retro Steam Works
I have been creating unique lighting for several years now, I specialize in custom finishes and hard to find sizes and designs; if you need a specific design I will be happy to work with you to achieve the desired piece.
My finishes are done by hand on solid materials, I don't fake brass or copper finishes on steel; whenever I do custom finishes I do them on real metals, ie; copper, brass.
My work can be found around the globe and throughout the US and Canada, besides individual clients I also have worked with commercial clients such as: Bose - Remodel Moore - Kindred Interiors - C3 Group - We Came in Peace - Consort Homes - NYC Best Bars group - Orchard Lane Studio - KP Designs & Associates - Freiheit Arquitecture - Zio and Sons - Workshop Denver, Fearins | Welch Interior Design to name a few.

Jay was very knowledgeable about his products and willing to customize two light fixtures in a timely manner. Packaging was thoughtful and appreciated. Very helpful.
My project turned out wonderfully! Jay was fantastic to work with- he understood what I was looking for and translated those ideas perfectly. His prices were very reasonable. The fixture arrived very well packed and in a timely fashion. Thanks so much Jay!
Jay made a beautiful custom light for our walk-in closet. He took requirements & specifications from our designer and provided the perfect solution for the oddly positioned electrical box. Light was well constructed, expertly shipped, and reasonably priced.
Second piece I have commissioned from Retro Steamworks and very cool. Functional and as promised. Delivered on time for a birthday which was a little rushed. Thanks Jay!
Jay was super helpful and comunicative up front. By the time we finalized the project I knew exactly what to expect and that’s what he delivered. The piece is beautiful and exactly what we needed for our space. Thanks Jay!
