By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea. The shell of this lovely Green Sea Turtle is made with a textured, sage green, streaky stained glass called Congo. His flippers and head are green/ brown and white streaky glass with a slightly bumpy texture. He's swimming in an ocean of blue green, textured streaky glass. These glass colors are extremely different depending on the amount of light behind the glass. I have tried to show the different colors and textures in my photos. This is a diamond shaped panel completely surrounded with copper wire. for stability. The measurements are 17" x 15" This piece is made in the Tiffany style, with hand cut glass, copper foil and solder. It is polished and waxed to a silver luster.
