Custom Hand Drawn Portrait
Are you looking for an interesting portrait of yourself for your website, wedding invitations, or as a gift? How about a portrait of your child or other loved ones? I can draw and color in gouache a modern and colorful portrait for whatever project or memento you wish to create. All portraits are done with ink and gouache on paper measuring 9" x 11" unless you request a custom size. The backgrounds are typically plain but some patterning can be added upon request. These pieces can be used hung on a wall or used in print and digital media (as long as artist credit is given). I will send you an original copy of the piece and can also send you a high resolution digital file if needed. I consider my style in general to be folk realism though these portraits have a very pop art feel to them.

Erika Rier, Drawing & Illustration
I'm a visual artist currenting residing in Portland, Oregon. I create work in a style I call Folk Surrealism using a combination of ink, gouache, and watercolor on paper. My style includes many bright colors, detailed patterns, and creatures of all sorts.
For CustomMade, my focus is on custom portraiture. I started drawing portraits a few years ago as part of a successful crowdsourcing campaign. Since drawing all of the portraits for my contributors, portrait illustration has become a large part of my artistic practice in business.
Outside portrait painting my work explores more themes such as femininity, violence, and mysticism. My work has a strong narrative drive which carries through each piece by a very thin thread.
