Rustic Colorado Aspen Wood Cake Stand
This beautiful, one of a kind cake stand was carefully crafted from Aspen wood found high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The wood used was hand selected from trees that had died of natural causes. The top piece was then cut and sanded extremely smooth multiple times. A coat of stain was applied to bring out the rich colors of the wood, and then a clear coat was applied to seal the whole thing up. The bottom piece was cut and stained just like the top. Three holes were drilled into the piece and wooden pegs were used to attach the two together.

I originally contacted Ben at a very busy time of year and we had plenty of time so he told me it would take a while, but he did keep to his timeline. Sometimes communication was a little slow, but that's being nit-picky. They were very neatly and tightly packaged and arrived in perfect condition. I would highly recommend Ben for this type of project.
