Iconic Monstrance Of Our Lady Of The Sign, Ark Of Mercy.

$100,000

It is a great joy to be able to work materializing a vision of a good friend. From the first suggestions to the full realization of the idea – step by step we build what you now can see. Each detail had a lengthy time of development through numerous prototypes. The massive gilt-wood monstrance is widely thought to be the largest in the world, standing at 9 feet and weighing in at 900 pounds. It is the work pf Stefan Niedorezo. The design is original, though not unprecedented, drawing on eastern images of Our Lady of the Sign and numerous other theological, iconographic and scriptural sources. It consists of a half-length sculpture of an orante Virgin Mary that serves as the backdrop for a foot-wide luna surrounded by rays and a crown of thorns. The statue is flanked by angels, and raised on a base resembling the Ark of the Covenant.

I am a sculptor working with wood, stone and bronze as well as in other materials – like cement and other synthetic substances. I have brought to fruition many various commissioned projects – from large monuments to architectural objects, decoration of interiors as well as intricate decorative details. I am able to undertake every theme starting with sketches, through consulting details with the client to the most refined final final realization. My biggest gratification is the full satisfaction of the person for whom I am working. It often occurs that this type of work requires patience and understanding of both parties in order to create something, that will hold its worth as a work of art. It is important to note that some ideas will require time for full realization – especially if we are striving to achieve quality of the highest level. I have many examples from a time when it was possible to create timeless works, without separating between fine art or common household objects. In my opinion we should treat every undertaking as the first and the last in our career – no one knows if what we are creating now may be the only work that remains to represent us. My dream is work for patrons that love the beauty within objects created from materials with characteristics that are brought out by skillful craft required to shape them.
