Encaustic Painting Titled "My Village"

This encaustic painting is created on a 14x18" wood panel with a 1.7" cradle that is ready to hang. It is created with encaustic wax, collaged papers, acrylic paint and gold leaf. The sky is painted with the acrylic paint, all the buildings and landscape is made from cut and torn pieces of paper. Then I applied several layers of encaustic wax over the surface. This piece is warm, colorful, vibrant and truly invokes the look and feel of an Italian village.
