Snowy Owl Sculpture
Here I have sculpted, morticed and tenoned, glued and screwed together from basswood, my latest "Labor of Hercules", Snowy Owl Sculpture, with a hand sculpted oval base of black walnut, the same as used on the tree itself, with sculpted snow drifts at the base also. Hundreds of hours of construction and research getting the markings correct, some orderly, other disorderly as in real life. Approximately 20 inches tall.

Working alone, I state working alone because nearly everything that I design and make are works of art made by me alone and signed by me for 20+ years, Ralph produces furnishings and signs rebelling against "mechanical mediocrity" refusing to work within the limitations imposed by machines and produce objets d'art which can only be accomplished with many hours/days/weeks/months of hand tooling.
To summarize, I am an artisan, not merely a furniture maker. Thank you for your interest in my fascination.

For David's Walking cane4.7The cane that Ralph made for me was difficult and challenging in it's design. I thought of an idea, sent him a two-dimensional picture of a complex three-dimensional idea, and he did the research necessary to make it happen. The cane was done beautifully. Ralph's communication was excellent as I received responses to all of my questions promptly. Ralph was very professional as well. In the end, I got a great product from a great creator. The price was very reasonable for what I received. I would not hesitate to use Ralph again for my next project, and I would most definitely recommend Ralph to anyone for their project.

For Alexander's Cane, Walking, staff4.0Today (22JUL2016) was the day I requested the product (walking cane) to be available for my Commander to deliver to a retiring Solider after 28 years of service. The product was completed and shipped danger close to the ceremony time (1400 22JUL2016). I prefer more breathing room. The product (which was top notch in quality and expectations) arrived today at 10am. Any problems with shipping or any delays what so ever (an hour, a day) would have ruined my guy's retirement ceremony, gotten myself one way conversations from my Command that I would preferably not want. In the future, I recommend products are shipped a week prior to the days they are requested. I'm not saying it didn't work out, but that's not the way I operate.
