This regency creation comes in two parts: an off-white cotton underdress that gathers at the low neckline with a satin ribbon, and a bodice of light mustard-colored velvet. The velvet is a really delicious fabric with subtle variations in color, a lovely sheen, and sturdy enough to achieve gravity-defying plumpness without foundation garments for most bust sizes. It is edged in white bias trim and lined in muslin. The eyelets are hand-sewn for historical accuracy and subtle beauty of detail. A grosgrain ribbon in a darker mustard laces up the front and can be tied at a tightness anywhere between ease of breathing and fainting spell. (Not that you'll need to attract any further attention once attired in yards of cotton and velvet.) SIZING. This dress will be custom-made to fit your measurements. You will be contacted after placing your order about the measurements I need, but, for a start, select xs, s, m, or l above. You can also choose the length of the dress to be either floor-length or trailing. SHIPPING. Please allow 4 weeks for the construction of this garment. Include your wedding date in "message to seller" upon checkout. Photography by C.M. Howard
