Wooden Chess Set
This chess set has been an evolution of ours over the years.. The robust pieces have a clean, simple style and are still easily recognizable. They are hand-turned from southern yellow pine, and the dark pieces have been stained a black-walnut shade. The predominant grain pattern lends an eye-catching zebra stripe effect. The board features two drawers that stow away underneath for piece storage. Woodburned customization is also possible. As with most of our indoor wooden items, the set is treated with 100% natural hemp seed oil, in line with our strong commitment to environmentally friendly products.

Everything from signs, country decor and rustic wedding items to traditional games and toys as well as many one-of-a-kind creations that you simply cannot find anywhere else. We are experienced with graphic design, and can help you create sign layouts and logos.
Everything that comes from our shop is produced in as natural and environmentally-friendly way as possible, from selectively harvested wood from our own land and the use of reclaimed timber, to non-toxic oil finishes and whey-based outdoor urethanes.

May 6, 2017I asked Andrew from That Family Shop if he could make a custom wood burned "guest log" for our wedding, with a tree, our name and wedding date engraved in it and I was happy to hear he was up for the new idea/project! It turned out exactly as I hoped for, VERY gorgeous, very clean and professional, and Andrew was extremely easy to work with as well. The final product shows his professional craftsmanship, and it's going to be a wonderful piece of art/guest "log" at our wedding this fall.

Jun 14, 2016Mr. Lund is REMARKABLE with his expertise in wood burning signs!! Very precise in the the writing and then putting the coating on the sign to protect and CAPTURE the natural grain of the wood and the lettering sets off the beauty of it....
