DO NOT PURCHASE FROM TODD EASTMAN! Please read my story before you consider purchasing. My purchase from this man has turned into a nightmare for my husband and I. We are honest people who just want our rings to be repaired as promised by his warranty. I purchased mine and my husband's wedding bands from Todd because I wanted something very specific: Titaniums bands with a fig wood inlay. I asked Todd about getting a coating for the wood that would protect it, because I was concerned that it being wood, would be easily damaged. He offered to add a "CA" clear, hard coating which was to be an extra charge. I went ahead and accepted the proposal last year, and received the rings around August 2015. When I received the rings, the clear coating did not cover the whole ring. There were small sections of the ring where I could see a break in the coating where the wood was exposed. I sent them back and he re-coated them. My husband and I were married on January 2nd and after four days of wearing our rings the finish was coming off, and flaking in some areas. I messaged Todd about this and he said to go ahead and send them back. He also said, "Keep in mind that certain cleaners, hand sanitizers, chemicals, ect... Could have an effect." My husband and I are not professional cleaners so the only types of chemicals we were using were hand soap, hand sanitizer, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Commonly used chemicals. I replied to Todd the same day asking if it was because of hand soap because that's what we do most, and asking if there was anything he could do about the size because they were a bit tight. We did not want to have to take the rings off every time we washed our hands! Two weeks had gone by and I had not heard back from Todd. I sent another message on 1/20/16 asking again about the sizing and telling him that the finish has still continued to come off even though we were not using anything other than hand soap. My husband's ring started to discolor too. I still did not hear back from him. Nine days later, 1/29/16, I messaged Todd again asking him to respond to me ASAP. He finally replied this message on 2/2/16: "Chrisie, We can do nothing to resize these rings. They are made to the ring sizing chart specs. Also upon looking at the finish issue further it is obvious that they are/or have been exposed to conditions or substances that has impaired it. Chances are is the reason as you stated that you do not like to take them on and off because of the sizing issue and they are tight. According to you these were a time sensitive issue at the end of August in 2015 after we received the rings to refinish a questionable problem that I am still not convinced of but we did it anyway. So for them to be worn for four days and the finish to come off do to the finish is highly unlikely for reason stated above and also the fact that we have had no issues with the hundreds of items we sell. This is unfortunate but we will not only not be paying any shipping charges to or from you but we will also be unable to refinish these for you free of charge do to neglect they have been subjected to. Thankyou" I am so disappointed that Todd has chosen to become dishonest and accuse us of mistreatment and neglect. My husband and I LOVE these rings, they are symbolic to us (of course they are, they are custom made!) and we exchanged these rings at our wedding. We want to take the best care of them possible. We do not want to return them and get our money back. We just want them fixed, and for him to follow through with his warranty. If the coating could not handle commonly used chemicals, then he should have made me aware of it before purchasing, because I would have never agreed to pay for a coating that would not be able to handle hand soap! It is now 2/8/15 and he has not responded to the message I sent back to him. I have since filed a claim with Custom Made.
