"It's a toy box! Take it apart… It's building blocks! Put it together… It's a puzzle!" - Mike As far as Mike was concerned, regular toy boxes just weren't fun enough. And let's face it, building blocks are a mess if you don't have a place to store them. Mike solved both problems with this design. These boxes consist of blocks made from reclaimed pine, a solid base, and a number of dowels. Place the dowels into the base, line up the dowels with the pre-drilled holes, and slide the block down. Mike's innovative design means that when all the blocks have been slid into place, they form a box strong enough to fill with toys. And if you don't need a toy box anymore (they grow up so fast!) all of the blocks and dowels fit inside the base. So you can easily store everything in the basement and save it for the grand kids. These toy boxes come in two sizes. The first is made of 54 blocks ranging in size from 1"x 2"x 2" to 1"x 2"x 10", and the finished toy box measures 16"x20"x13". The second is made from 54 blocks ranging in size from 1.5"x 3"x 3" to 1 .5"x 3"x 12", and the finished toy box measures 18"x 30"x 17.5". This larger box also includes a "window" that opens on each end. Both boxes are finished with a child-safe, non-toxic shellac. This can also be made to suit your size needs.

We offer quality, original products, unlike anything else you have seen. Each of our designs is created with more than one function in mind. Here you will discover boxes that become puzzles, puzzles that become chairs, and chairs that become boxes. All of which are handcrafted in Upstate New York to be safe, creative, and fun!
I also love making new custom designs. I enjoy working with clients to help them make their dreams a reality (but just their furniture dreams).

For Cherry Slab BenchThe bench was completed beautifully. However, it became damaged in shipping, so I will need to buy additional materials to clean up an upper edge of the seat and and refinish the piece.

For Door Bell Chime CoverI was very impressed with Kinderling Wood. I have an old tubular chime that had a really ugly cover and was in a tight alcove. It looks great, and fits perfectly. There was excellent, professional, back and forth and confirming of dimensions and how it would hang. It fits into the architecture of the room now so well that actually no one has noticed the old ugly one is gone.

For Treasures And Secrets BoxMike was very professional and easy to work with - he went above and beyond to make sure my wishes were met, but also made sure that he guided me to better decisions when his expertise saw I likely wouldn't be happy with what I was asking for (such as the combination of stain colors). I doubt I could find mass-produced boxes without the options I wanted for the price he delivered. Thank you, Mike - I'm so excited to give these to my nieces!
