Handmade and bound leather journal, another rugged book of decided design. Not meant to be pampered, this very handsome journal will find purpose for the outdoorsman, the cowboy, the rancher who appreciates the sunrise and sunset. Or that particular person who'll recognize the aesthetic and know what to do with 100 pages beckoning the record. Just check out the original art on the inside covers, meant to be more than decor or symbolism. So throw it on the dash of a dusty old truck or place it on a table set with finery. Either way, it'll feel comfortable in your hands, put your own hand print on it, the E8 herd can be yours for the moment. Copper and leather do seem to go together! -Measures 5 3/4" x 7" x 1 1/4" of rich brown oil tanned leather -Hand cut & trimmed in fold-over design -Removable 35" brown leather strap with copper tips for double wrap-around -Lapel adorned with hand hammered copper -Cool copper finished steer skull on back cover -Original 'E8' brand wraps around the side and back -Five hand torn signatures of Folio fine art/printmaking paper -100 writable/recordable pages (front & back) all with deckle edge -Inside covers feature original silk screen art, hand torn to fit -European head bands -And . . . a signature of the artist and journal maker (dat be me!)

As sole proprietor at Studio of Visual Arts, I have been a professional illustrator and printmaker for 35 years. My illustrative work is represented in five Louisiana State Museums, countless corporate collections and has received numerous prestigious grants. NewSouthBooks was born as a natural extension of that same artisanship. I am now producing and marketing handmade, leather bound journals of quality and distinction, each journal a unique presentation with original artwork as adornment. All leather, new or old, is hand-cut and trimmed. I use only the highest quality fine art/printmaking paper (250w), hand stitching each signature. My leather journals are truly bound books using traditional book binding materials. Adding to the distinction is the incorporation of original artwork to inside covers and often, the middle signature. On this site, you'll see many examples of work previously completed for clientele. For Leather Bound Bible Niv Version Distressed Brown Cowhide New Ready To Ship (577)4.7Making this purchase was a breeze. It turned out to be a beautiful Bible that smells just as good as it looks. It has soft leather with a worn character feel. It is a 10/10 purchase. The one downside, that is not really a big deal, is that the strap is a lighter color, and it wraps both around the front and the back with short ends. It doesn't "tie" very good. I had the feeling it was one long strap that could be wrapped around several times with an easy tuck on the second or third wrap around the book. Besides this minor miscommunication in photos, it is an amazing Bible I will have for years. Thank you for the time and effort you put into crafting this Bible's exterior.
