Handmade leather bound pocket journal, another in a long line of really neat little leather books from me and NewSouthBooks. This brown leather pocket book has some cool watercolors in copper & silver to get you started if you like to draw or paint or sketch. Or . . . there's 80+ pages to record just about any secret you may have. And . . . it wraps up neat and tidy and'll slip into just about any pocket you own. Or your briefcase, saddlebag, purse or glove box. And . . . it's very reasonably priced for a handmade REAL book with REAL binding and finished up with REAL headbands. Neat piece of hand hammered copper on the back too -Measures 3-1/4" x 3" x 1" of brown tack leather -Hand-cut & trimmed into handy fold-over design -19" adjustable/removable brown leather strap -Strap secured with hand hammered copper bar on back -Four hand stitched signatures of Folio white watercolor/fine art paper -Original watercolors in copper &silver are featured on inside covers -80 pages all hand torn with deckle edge -Finished with European head bands and my signature

As sole proprietor at Studio of Visual Arts, I have been a professional illustrator and printmaker for 35 years. My illustrative work is represented in five Louisiana State Museums, countless corporate collections and has received numerous prestigious grants. NewSouthBooks was born as a natural extension of that same artisanship. I am now producing and marketing handmade, leather bound journals of quality and distinction, each journal a unique presentation with original artwork as adornment. All leather, new or old, is hand-cut and trimmed. I use only the highest quality fine art/printmaking paper (250w), hand stitching each signature. My leather journals are truly bound books using traditional book binding materials. Adding to the distinction is the incorporation of original artwork to inside covers and often, the middle signature. On this site, you'll see many examples of work previously completed for clientele.
