Let me make one for you -Measures 5-5/8" x 6-1/4" x 1-1/8" of smooth black leather, 4oz-5oz -Hand cut & trimmed into stylish fold-over design -39" hand cut triple wrap-around black leather strap -Each signature features a page of hand torn Strathmore Grey fine art paper -Five hand stitched signatures of Folio fine art paper/watercolor paper (250w) -Signatures stitched with waxen linen thread -100 hand torn pages with deckle edge -Finished with imported silk head bands and my signature My journals are truly hand bound books. No floppy signatures stitched to the spine, these journals are constructed using standard bookbinding materials. Every page is hand torn 250w fine art paper and most journals are adorned with original artwork and hand hammered copper, brass or silver All journals ship USPS Priority upon completion

As sole proprietor at Studio of Visual Arts, I have been a professional illustrator and printmaker for 35 years. My illustrative work is represented in five Louisiana State Museums, countless corporate collections and has received numerous prestigious grants. NewSouthBooks was born as a natural extension of that same artisanship. I am now producing and marketing handmade, leather bound journals of quality and distinction, each journal a unique presentation with original artwork as adornment. All leather, new or old, is hand-cut and trimmed. I use only the highest quality fine art/printmaking paper (250w), hand stitching each signature. My leather journals are truly bound books using traditional book binding materials. Adding to the distinction is the incorporation of original artwork to inside covers and often, the middle signature. On this site, you'll see many examples of work previously completed for clientele.
