This cool journal/notebook/sketchbook is vintage in appearance because of the . . . (drum roll) . . . vintage wooden button with bakelite top. I oughta' be able to stop right there but I won't. The beautiful textured red-brown leather wraps neatly around 150+ total hand torn pages, eighty of which are Coventry 130w, hand lined in Prisma color pencil. The rest are blank for drawing or doodling and there's tea stained and Canson color stock too. Just plainly cool with a little something for most all y'all -Measures 6-1/2" x 8-3/4" x 3/4" of textured red-brown cowhide -Hand cut & trimmed in stylish fold-over cover with natural hide end cut -Front cover feature vintage wooden button with bakelite top -59" slender hand cut leather strap triple wraps -150+ total hand torn deckle edge pages - 120 pages of Coventry fine art paper, 80 hand lined in Prisma color pencil -24 tea stained pages 250w Folio fine art/watercolor paper -8 pages Canson color fine art paper -Finished with imported silk headbands -Signed by your journal maker -Shipping USPS Priority includes insurance

As sole proprietor at Studio of Visual Arts, I have been a professional illustrator and printmaker for 35 years. My illustrative work is represented in five Louisiana State Museums, countless corporate collections and has received numerous prestigious grants. NewSouthBooks was born as a natural extension of that same artisanship. I am now producing and marketing handmade, leather bound journals of quality and distinction, each journal a unique presentation with original artwork as adornment. All leather, new or old, is hand-cut and trimmed. I use only the highest quality fine art/printmaking paper (250w), hand stitching each signature. My leather journals are truly bound books using traditional book binding materials. Adding to the distinction is the incorporation of original artwork to inside covers and often, the middle signature. On this site, you'll see many examples of work previously completed for clientele.
