Handmade leather journal and likely one of the coolest journals existing anywhere in the civilized world. This leather bound book is constructed from super soft light brown cowhide. The fold-over design is cut from the hide's end, allowing for a sculpted appearance. To lend to that same quality is a piece of hand hammered copper to adorn the cover. And golly if that's not enough, there is the super neat laser jet printed image of one of my original works on canvas just inside on page one. 100+ hand torn deckle edged pages are wrapped up in all this one-of-a-kind personal journal. Carry with you any and everywhere. Be the coolest person wherever you go. My journals are truly hand bound books. No floppy signatures stitched to the spine, these journals are constructed using standard bookbinding materials. Every page is hand torn 250w fine art paper and most journals are adorned with original artwork and hand hammered copper, brass or silver -Measures 5-1/2" x 7-3/4" x 1-1/8" of very soft light brown cowhide -Hand cut & trimmed from hide end piece into stylish fold-over design -Front cover features piece of hand hammered copper -Laser jet printed image of original work on canvas adorns front inside cover -Five hand stitched signatures of Folio Antique white printmaking/watercolor paper -Signatures stitched with waxen linen thread -100+ hand torn pages with deckle edge -Finished with imported silk head bands -And . . . a signature by your journal maker

As sole proprietor at Studio of Visual Arts, I have been a professional illustrator and printmaker for 35 years. My illustrative work is represented in five Louisiana State Museums, countless corporate collections and has received numerous prestigious grants. NewSouthBooks was born as a natural extension of that same artisanship. I am now producing and marketing handmade, leather bound journals of quality and distinction, each journal a unique presentation with original artwork as adornment. All leather, new or old, is hand-cut and trimmed. I use only the highest quality fine art/printmaking paper (250w), hand stitching each signature. My leather journals are truly bound books using traditional book binding materials. Adding to the distinction is the incorporation of original artwork to inside covers and often, the middle signature. On this site, you'll see many examples of work previously completed for clientele. For Leather Bound Bible Niv Version Distressed Brown Cowhide New Ready To Ship (577)4.7Making this purchase was a breeze. It turned out to be a beautiful Bible that smells just as good as it looks. It has soft leather with a worn character feel. It is a 10/10 purchase. The one downside, that is not really a big deal, is that the strap is a lighter color, and it wraps both around the front and the back with short ends. It doesn't "tie" very good. I had the feeling it was one long strap that could be wrapped around several times with an easy tuck on the second or third wrap around the book. Besides this minor miscommunication in photos, it is an amazing Bible I will have for years. Thank you for the time and effort you put into crafting this Bible's exterior.
