Mountain Belt Buckle, Hand-Fabricated, Western
I fabricate my mountain buckles from sterling silver, copper, and brass sheet. After designing them on paper, I cut out all the pieces with a jeweler's saw. When they have been filed and sanded to a perfect fit, I solder the parts together in several stages. Next, I dome the buckle slightly on an anvil and fabricate the hinge and pin on the back of the buckle. Much of the effort in creating these buckles comes in the final stages of finishing. Much time is spent filing and hand sanding the buckle, front and back, to achieve a refined surface that is a pleasure to touch. They fit any standard, snap-on belt. The buckles pictured were built to fit 1 1/2" belts, and I can size them for your preferred belt width.
