Based on a John Townsend original on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY. The face of this clock dates from circa 1780, is solid brass, and shows the name of the original maker, Devereux Bonly, London. Solid "cuban" mahogany case, with carved Newport blocked shell on trunk door. Eight day weight driven mechanism that strikes the hour. A magnificent clock that truly has a "presence" in any room. A unique project because of the authentic period clock face and the quality of materials used in construction.
