The uniform live edge lends itself well to a bench. Thick walnut, 2 3/4", which was dovetailed and mitered on the end giving it the waterfall appearance and stood on a flat steel welded leg on at the nose giving it a more modern flare. The steel was sanded and painted black to blend better with the dark grain of the walnut. Our Tung oil mix finish and the woods natural beauty make this piece stand out. Heavy, sturdy, glossy.
2nd Life Wood
I am Andy Baugus, of 2nd Life Wood, and I have been milling large wood slabs and making furniture for over 23 years here in beautiful Northwest Arkansas. I have many different species of indigenous hardwoods from walnut, oak, cherry, maple, elm, box elder, and other hardwoods available. I get my trees from construction removed, storm damaged, and dead standing. I rescue wood that would be considered useless and turn them into fine pieces of furniture. Otherwise they would be dumped into ravines or burned in the piles they were salvaged from. I also do custom jobs on furniture to your liking. From coffee tables to conference tables, bar tops, or desk, counter tops, and dinning tables.
