Custom Wooden Letter Boxes
These letter boxes are examples of boxes I have recently made. I will be glad to work with you to design and personalize a Letter box with various woods and personalized wood burned or inlaid images and text. (send message to me and I will quote) (some people cut and paste this into an e-mail) Top and Side panel woods: Choose Oak, Cherry or Black Walnut Panels (or other) Sides, top and bottom panels of these gun boxes are constructed of 1/2 inch quality cabinet grade plywood with the exterior veneer wood of your choice. The solid wood edges are biscuit jointed and glued throughout to form a very strong box. All surfaces are clear Lacquer finished. Length: Choose option 7-20 inches (interior front to back) Width: Choose option 10-20 inches (interior right to left) Height: Choose option 3-20 inches (interior bottom to top) Top border inlay: Choose Oak, Cherry or Black Walnut Panels (or other) Front and rear Inlay: Choose Oak, Cherry or Black Walnut (or other) Sides Inlay: Choose Oak, Cherry or Black Walnut (or other) Cam Lock: Choose Yes or No to have a cam lock installed Comes with two keys Edge treatment: Choose rounded or square corners and edges Leather Handle: Choose Yes or No Comes in brown or black Come in flat of bevelled Hinge: Choose wood hinge or metal The attractive wood hinge is as strong as a metal hinge and an original design of mine Velour insert for inside top and bottom (choose yes or no) Text engraved by hand If you would like Text engraved by hand please enter the text you want here. Tell me the Text font and size and location (I can put your text anywhere inside or outside of the box. Inlaid letters 1 to 2 inch letters in "Lucida Calligraphy" or other text fonts Please tell me what woods you would like for the letters (Oak, Black Walnut or Cherry) Choose a contrasting wood to the one you choose for the top. Tell me where you want the inlaid Text Image to be woodburned/engraved on top If you choose to use your own image, photo, or artwork, Woodburning of images are generally $25-$150 and are priced after I see the image.

Aug 2, 2020To the reader: It has taken me a long while to think of suitably congratulatory praise for Glenn Nief and the magnificent object of Art he has created for my family. I will do my best to express it in words but it is really pictures that would be needed to illustrate all the features of the piece. And even they fail to give a full impression to the beholder. The work is a Bible Box and a worthy repository of a Book which has been in our family for over 150 years. It is shaped like a cube constructed with multiple varieties of wood which give the object a warm glow that calls for touch. The inlaid inscriptions on the top announce the Holy Book and the lineage names for the families which have held the Bible in their care over generations are inscribed. The lid opens to reveal engravings of the coat of arms of my home region (Alsace, France) and that of my wife's (Texas, USA) above words explaining that the box was my present to my spouse on the occasion of Christmas. The back-hinge is all wood and the front panel can be swung down to slide smoothly the unusually large Book out of the case without risking any damage. An unexpected compartment in the bottom holds ancient family papers, photos and daguerreotypes and the box can be locked with an ornate key for protection. The bottom of the box shows worthily the signature of the Artist. I tried my best above to communicate the beauty of the receptacle and I am so very grateful to Glenn Nief for having created a heirloom which will amaze generations to come.
