Black Walnut and Bradford Pear Recipe box with "A-Z" inlaid in top For 4 inches of 4x6" recipe cards. This Custom recipe box was hand made with Black Walnut and Bradford Pear woods, The Bradford Pear and the Black Walnut wood is from the foothills of East Tennessee Smoky Mountains. The "M" was hand cut and inlaid into the top. The top and all sides were laminated with alternating Black Walnut and Bradford Pear woods. The wooden hinge is a one of a kind original and the box has over 100 individual pieces of wood. Finished throughout with a satin sheen lacquer. Hand Made by Glenn G. Nief

It took me a couple of months researching the web before I settled on Glenn as the choice for this project. I saw one of his fly-fishing rod boxes and it was a sealed deal. This is classic old-world workmanship not readily found just anywhere. In the end, it's a one-of-a-kind family heirloom now and the recipient couldn't be happier. Aug 11, 2015I was extremely happy with the item I ordered, well crafted and well made. Excellent job! The order took nearly twice as long as originally stated (26 weeks as opposed to estimated 12 weeks) which did wear my patience thin, and the lack of timely communication or status compounded frustration. HOWEVER... Glenn was extremely professional and ultimately explained he was running behind. Overall I would recommend this professional as long as you understand that quality takes time. I believe the positives far outweigh the negatives to this particular transaction and I would go with him again to design and craft my next wood project.

He provided a 3-D CAD model at the start to confirm my requirements and to give me a precise idea of what the finished product would look like. He also kept me informed of his progress along the way, providing pictures of the work in progress. The project ended up taking longer than promised, but it was worth the wait, as it turned out exactly as I had hoped.
