Leather Knife Sheath - Albany Addition
This sheath was made to fit a custom made hunting knife. The customer wanted a sheath that could withstand the harsh elements of the back country and that could match his beautiful knife. Material and Methods: Full grain veg-tanned leather was use for the main construction of the sheath. lined every inner surface of the sheath (including belt loop and strap) with 1.5 mm veg-tan leather - adding the lining adds strength, extra durability, increased protection for the knife against the elements, increases retention of knife, allows for smooth sheathing of knife and finally just looks good. Fully conditioned the sheath with 2 different conditioners for weather protection, keeps leather healthy and supple. Then super satin sheen sealer and rubbed on a light coat of leather balm w/atom wax. Hand stitched the sheath with a saddle stitch technique and used a waxed polyester 0.8mm Tiger threading (best on the market in my opinion). Hardware used is nickel plated snap and 9 gauge cooper rivets.
