This teapot, just like most of my work, started from formal qualities rather than the imagery in the finished work. I knew I wanted to do a crescent "resting" on a base. I also wanted to use varying degrees of scale in this piece as a formal quality between the top and bottom. I feel like this represents the human experience. We aren't the biggest things in the cosmos, and we're not the smallest, which can make our actions either hugely insignificant or monumentally important depending on the context of scale.

This was an excellent experience and I am planning to do a lot more business based off this experience. The Mugs were great and am I super excited about them!
