Paper Pet Portraits
Making pet portraits is probably one of my favorite things to do. Mine are unique in that I make the portraits out of several layers of cut paper. Each layer is shaded using colored pencil. I will raise certain layers to add some depth to the piece. Sometimes the backgrounds are made of additional layers of paper, and sometimes they are made of paper with a printed pattern or background.
