Despite the Eurocentric/pretentious title I gave this table, it truly is a piece where function dictates title. The Draught horse (draft in America…I just like the British spelling). Is the workhorse of the equine family. As the Draught table is now the workhorse of the family it was built for. At 96"X48" with a height of 31" this is a true dining table. Made of solid reclaimed slow growth quartersawn white oak circa 100-years- old , The Draught Table boasts - -15/16" thick tabletop - 5"X 4" solid legs, hand carved and shaped, that retain the original mortise and tenon joinery at their base. -All Wood Joinery (except for slotted screws securing table to base) -Hand-cut breadboard ends -Finished in dark walnut Danish oil then sealed with several layers of satin wipe on polyurethane (this family has three young children spills are to be not only expected but encouraged) -Attached to the four corners of the table are horse hames, these are used with a team of horses typically when pulling a wagon or cart. The hames are from the same barn as the wood used for the table. They were stripped and refinished to match the table then secured through the back of the aprons by wooden dowels so there is no evidence of hardware holding them up on the outside. -This table was featured in the Lexington, Kentucky 'Kitchens of the Bluegrass Tour 2013'

Fine handmade furniture and goods from locally sourced sustainably harvested wood.. All projects are designed and built by me, William Ney - I'm a one-man show. My aim is to build quality furniture from reclaimed and sustainably harvested hardwoods that will last for generations. One of my dining tables was recently featured in the "Kitchen Tours of the Bluegrass" held in Lexington, KY, in July, 2013.
Thanks for looking. Any and all questions are not only welcome, but encouraged.

For Dining Table And Benches Reclaimed White Oak With Hairpin LegsWe ordered a 84" reclaimed wood dining table with two benches from William and we couldn't be more impressed. From the final finishes, to the shipping, to the assembly, we're thoroughly pleased with the work. A great value, better than anything we could have bought at West Elm or other big box stores. Thanks Will!

For Dining Table And Benches Reclaimed White Oak With Hairpin LegsMy wife and I had been looking for the perfect table for our breakfast area, and we didn't just want a table, but a place where family and friends could gather and make memories together. When I found the CustomMade page, and William Ney's table, my wife said, "That's it!" The proposal was acceptable, and we immediately committed to buy the table and benches. My wife was hosting a baby shower for a dear friend the weekend after we got the table. Everything with the delivery was perfect. It was a snap to assemble and we are enjoying it already and can't wait to celebrate it with our friends and family. After conversing with Will several times during the process, I know that he is not just a furniture-maker, but a craftsman and an artisan. His work is unique. I would heartily recommend William Ney's work again.

For rustic tableI couldn't be happier. This man is an artist. Not only does he love what he does, he takes pride in his work and is extremely conscientious and meticulous. The table I ordered is a work of art. Hard to find these days. I will be ordering more pieces from Will in the future !
