Desk/filing table in solid Walnut. The top has a cut out (next to the front wall) to allow storage for empty files, envelopes and other office supply. The bottom shelf rests on the legs' stretchers and is removable if a more formal look is needed.

Meet the Maker
Luca Montresor
LAM Woodworks
Based in Santa Ana in Orange County, Southern California, I design and manufacture custom cabinetry and furniture. I handle every single aspect of a project: design, production, finishing and installation, with emphasis on client's satisfaction.
Past projects include kitchens, bathrooms, TV rooms, closets and wine cellars, and I have built tables, desks, butcher's blocks, fireplace mantels, all of which I designed myself.
I was born in Italy and grew up in a family totally involved in woodworking and design.
My dad came from a woodworking family tradition dating all the way back to the 17th century; one of my uncle was an architect specialized in interior design, while my other uncle was a set and costume designer plus books illustrator who worked extensively overseas (you can google him : Beni Montresor); finally, my aunt owned a furniture store that was used to sell most of the brand names of italian furniture.
With the exception of Beni, everybody worked close to each other: my aunt shop on first floor, my uncle firm on the second and my dad shop at the back, before we moved to bigger premises.
With such an enviroment, it was only natural that I ended up studying Architecture in Venice and working for two different architectural firms before joining my dad in his business together with my brother, who is still there making custom furniture.

Jul 27, 2014I would recommend Lam woodworks to any of my family/friends. I had Luca make dining table base to put marble top. It came out beautifully! I was nervous about working with him since I have never met the guy but it worked out awesome and my finished table looks amazing. He responses in timely manner and met agreed deadline and delivered it on time not to mention beautiful craftsman ship. I will surely work with him again!

Dec 30, 2014amazing work! you cannot tell the difference between the original and the one Luca made for me... actually I think this is better since he probably use only wood in any part of my bench. Highly recommend. Probably is not Luca fault, I couldn't give 5 stars on Timeliness, but yes it took long. The rest is just perfect!
