this piece of olive came from a tree brought by sailboat, by the spanish missionaries and planted in Santa Barbara over 100 years ago. the steel tube frame, as well as the olive, are both salvaged materials. this is the second project in which i welded the base. the olive will be finished with a natural oil and 'tried and true' top coat. the base will be left with the rust encased in a few coats polyurethane.
design+build
design+build strives to use 100% locally salvaged materials in each piece. I select+orient each piece with intention, embellishing the stories held within. custom slabs or dimensional lumber can be tailored to each order, collaborating with Seaborn Designs of Gaviota. design+build creates a variety of woodworking pieces from benches, tables, and counter tops to cutting blocks, shadow boxes, and picture frames. I encourage you to stretch your imagination and share your ideas, so we can complete a project together.
