For Solid Walnut Double Vanity With Turned Legs1.0We could not be more disappointed in our experience. The project was supposed to take 8 weeks to be completed (normal turnaround time was 4-6 weeks). Instead, the project took over 4 months to be completed. Making things worse was the lack of communication around delays as it took several follow ups to get a response. The last straw came when the vanity cabinet was delivered it reeked of smoke (impossible to get out of wood), the finish had drips in some areas, and the inside of the cabinet was incomplete. We’ve now spent over 20 hours trying to remove the smoke smell (not successful yet) and still have more hours to do to finish the piece. We’ve reached out to Mike and have not received a response (not surprised). We have received no money back or discount to date either for all of the troubles we’ve been put through.

His craftsmanship is very good and I appreciated the care he took as we iterated the design and the execution of the piece. This was my first experience with CustomMade.com – when I posted my project online, I received a handful of proposals with a range of cost estimates (all of which were less expensive than what I was quoted by local resources in NYC). I was a little nervous when I embarked with CustomMade thinking “this must be too good to be true,” but when Mike started showing me CAD drawings of my ideas and explaining the different manufacturing options, I knew intuitively that he knew what he was doing and was motivated by his craft. This was truly a joint effort – he had great patience through every iteration and used photos and texts to inform my decisions throughout the process.
