My name is Ron Ballard of Sevierville, TN. I'm originally from Tulsa Oklahoma and lived in Texas for 25 years. I moved to Sevierville because of the beauty of the mountains. I enjoy the outdoors and nature. I feel that my wood working fits well in this area of tourist town and mountain area.
I taught myself wood working when I was 15 years old. I started out making furniture pieces for my grandmother and mother. I continued educating myself by reading books and looking on the internet. I have built 18th century furniture like, chest of drawers, chairs, and used the style to create my own design of furniture. I currently do a lot of segmented wood turning. I design all sizes of bowls, vases, bottle stoppers, Christmas bells, multi-wood solid Christmas ornaments, and lamps. All of my work is one of a kind, no duplication's.
I have won awards in furniture competitions for design, construction and carvings. Such as, ball and claw foot. I have designed carvings and wood turnings in a train promoting the House of Blues Cafe for Dan Aykroyd.
