Laptop Stand

$159

*Ultra low Laptop stand. MADE TO ORDER Home or office or on the go accessory for your Laptop! Stylish and practical I designed this Laptop Stand for all Mac laptop users. The idea was to make a portable laptop stand that would lift up the screen height to alleviate neck strain while looking professional and beautiful. What I ended up with was all of that and more. *Reduce your neck strain while using your laptop *Improve your posture! *Allow air to circulate around your computer thereby keeping it cooler (better for the machine) *Keep your lap cool. *Portable (packs in your computer bag!) *Stylish! The Laptop Stand design allows air to freely circulate around your laptop plus holds your laptop up at an angle easing neck strain. Its small and lightweight design easily dis-assembles and packs in to your computer bag with your laptop. Reassembly is just as easy. This Laptop Stand comes with the lowest riser I have made to date. *Ultra low for wrist's that just can't take the angle of a raised up keyboard. This particular stand was also made for a PC with a thicker base. When you order your stand I take a lot of information into account. I made this walnut wedge for this customer because I thought it would help him have a comfortable place to rest his wrists while typing. Each piece is finely crafted out of beautiful woods that accent each other and your environment. They work with docking stations, laptops, cookbooks, and even iPads. This Laptop Stand is made out of Figured Western Maple with African Blackwood and Jatoba inlay and Jatoba with Port Orford Cedar risers. This is a low and medium laptop stand that lifts your laptop screen up about 2-3" or about 4-5". The exact height depends on the size of your laptop. This stand weighs 12 oz. and measures to be 12" wide by 7 1/4". Work healthier and surround yourself with beauty! and don't forget . . . buy some art today, it helps feed your soul, your community, your world.

I have been living in the Pacific Northwest since 1991 and currently work in Portland, Oregon. Portland is a fast growing hub of creative energy and inspired Makers. I am one. For me, it has always been about line, shape, function and lets not forget . . . wood. I am awed by it's unique nature and delighted that I get the opportunity to work with it everyday. Each board and every species has it's own unique characteristics. A wild example is the Huon Pine from Tasmania. It is the oldest living tree on the planet at 10, 500 years. They start to reproduce 600 to 800 years of age. That helps put some perspective in the realm of us and them!

The intention behind my work is to highlight the qualities of each piece of wood I handle, to give it a new life, and to help us appreciate and see it for what it is. I am often given the great pleasure to make gifts for anniversaries, birthdays, holidays and just something sweet. What a special honor it is to be the maker of a gift! I get the sweet view of seeing a person love another. Isn't that what it's all about?

My background in both fine art and the construction industry has given me an unusual approach to woodworking and furniture making. I am an artist who makes usable, beautiful objects with wood that I hope will say something about us.

I have a BFA from Cooper Union in NYC, NY and was a contractor for over 15 years designing and remodeling homes in New York City, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Eugene, Oregon. While studying fine art and learning how to carve wood I also studied woodworking and cabinetry. Later I worked for a couple of architectural woodworking shops in Oregon where I learned in a commercial environment making one off custom work.

I make furniture, woodwork , sculpture, laptop stands, specialty boxes, jewelry and probably something else by the time you read this. I love to design and build my own work as well as contract commissions for clients. My passion lies in discovery and invention and the challenge to make something useful in the most beautiful way possible.
I hope you enjoy!
