Designed for a small New England Cottage under renovation, this console table serves three spatial programs simultaneously. Set at counter height, it extends the working surface area of the small kitchen into the living area, allowing a program slip that creates continuity between the two spaces. The cantilevered middle shelf allows the side table to hover, creating unobstructed space for shoes and boots beside a heavily used side entrance. Beautiful naturally patinated barnwood is the feature surface while the crisp ash in the middle height surface sets a contrast that becomes an analogy of the slip between spaces. Steel provides the structure for long open spans and the cantilevered side table. A light natural finish allows the textures and colors of each material to remain true to character.

I am Southern Illinois based designer and custom builder with 18 years experience in metal fabrications, carpentry and custom installations. My background in both sculpture and architecture have helped in developing the capacity to recognize the spatial implications and conceptual potency of the objects with which we interact daily.
I have a particular interest in objects and installations that produce spatial relationships between users, program shifts and versatility, and help the owner/occupant express themselves through the act of dwelling.
I believe in the intuitions of my clients, and work to maintain an open dialogue and a collaborative spirit. As such, I often work in association with area design/build groups and local craftspeople in order to broaden my capacity to serve my clients' interests.

For Industrial Reclaimed Wood DeskI would definitely work with Josh again. He is an artist! Our desk is beautiful and fully met all our expectations.

For Walnut Bath Vanity CabinetJosh was extremely helpful in the planning stages of my project. His work product was top notch. When we had to purchase different cabinet hardware, I asked him to send me a bill for the difference and he wouldn't accept any more money. This guy is old-school good people. I cannot recommend him strongly enough.

For DJ DeskI highly recommend Joshua. His attention to detail was exceptional. He understood the drawings I gave him with the eye of an Architect. He figured out important details to my piece that make it incredible. He deliver the product on time and basically nailed down the design I had in my mind in time. I would work again with him any moment and I can say that he is the best choice to go with. I would be surprised that he delivers any work that is considered sub-par. Quality is what you will get with him.

For Office DeskGreat craftsmanship and Josh provided some very useful design ideas at the outset. Desk was super easy to assemble and exactly the quality I was expecting. If the holes for the outlet wires were a bit bigger, it would've been perfect. Would definitely recommend Object A and will likely use them for future projects. The local station of the shipping provider Josh used made a few errors that resulted in a delay in the delivery.
