The Uncle's Workshop is the brain child of Tim McCarthy. With a background of: formal musical education, furniture construction and ten years working as a Craftsman. Uncle's Workshop is his dream. An arena to build (by any means necessary) works of awe and imagination.

The concept is simple; make functional/whimsical/inspired pieces of furniture. All of the work is "one-off" and there is no plan to change that. Be it beautiful or grotesque. We want to build it. Having been trained in the tradition of furniture building we do not want to be bogged down by tradition. To create a piece we will use any trusted construction methods available. Yet, to be clear…I still hand cut all of my Dovetails.

As "Uncle" moves forward we hope to make it an interactive cooperative design house. Inviting other Designers and Craftsman into our shop to build works that will be remembered.
